International Volunteer Exchange to Tanzania
International Volunteer Exchange to Tanzania
The International Volunteer Exchange Program was created to infuse local education with fresh perspectives, innovative skills, and a spirit of global understanding. We believe that cross-cultural learning not only strengthens teaching quality but also inspires students to learn with greater confidence and motivation.
International volunteers play a vital role as mentors, role models, and change-makers, helping bridge the gap between global awareness and local impact.
Through their participation, the program can:
Introduce new teaching methods and creative approaches.
Enhance spoken English skills through everyday interaction with native or fluent speakers.
Foster mutual cultural understanding and respect.
Build global networks that sustain long-term collaboration and growth.
What Will International Volunteers Do?
International volunteers play an active and meaningful role across our five core programs. Their contributions include:
Teaching support in the Fearless English Program through speaking, reading, and writing practice.
Assisting with classroom activities such as group work, interactive lessons, and creative learning sessions.
Facilitating extracurricular programs, including clubs, games, workshops, and arts.
Engaging in home visits and community outreach to better understand and support students’ lives.
Contributing to the monitoring and documentation of project outcomes and impact.
Sharing personal experiences and stories to inspire students and raise awareness of the foundation’s work.
Volunteers collaborate closely with local teachers, project coordinators, and community leaders to ensure their efforts are meaningful, sustainable, and aligned with school needs as well as national education goals.
How Do International Volunteers Create Educational and Awareness Value?
International volunteers bring transformative value to both students and the wider community by:
Strengthening English communication skills through immersive, real-life language interaction.
Building confidence, critical thinking, and creativity to empower students beyond the classroom.
Encouraging global citizenship and cultural respect, fostering openness and understanding.
Raising awareness in the community about the importance of education, early learning, hygiene, and environmental responsibility.
Sharing impactful stories and reflections that inspire local engagement and global solidarity in development work.

Volunteering with Son Ta foundation has exceeded my expectations in every way. Teaching, playing, singing, and spending time with the children has been rewarding, and seeing them always smiling has taught me so much about humility and gratitude. In addition, immersing in the culture and appreciating the beauty of nature is like stepping into a new world. A truly incredible experience.

Volunteering in Tanzania was a truly unforgettable and rewarding experience. I had the opportunity to assist local teachers and help children improve their English language skills. The students were incredibly eager to learn, full of energy, and always greeted me with smiles and curiosity. Despite limited resources, the enthusiasm and dedication of both the students and teachers were truly inspiring. I was able to lead one lesson per day, support kids with individual reading and writing, and create fun interactive activities to make learning more engaging. This experience not only allowed me to make a small impact on the children’s education, but it also gave me a deeper understanding of Tanzanian culture and the importance of global community support. I would highly recommend this kind of volunteering to anyone passionate about education and making a difference

Punctuality is something I personally value highly. Upon arrival in Tanzania, this cultural difference – the "pole pole" rhythm – was a real challenge for me. It helped me grow in patience and flexibility, but it was indeed an adjustment. One of the most meaningful parts of my experience was connecting with the students. I often borrowed 10–20 minutes from the English lesson to simply ask how they were doing, what they liked, how their families were. They loved being listened to and receiving full attention. I believe that one hour of open conversation time could have a powerful and positive impact on the children’s development. I truly believe more time spent with them, outside of class, doing engaging activities would have made the experience even more powerful – for both them and myself.
