Classroom TV

Welcome! Your new classroom TV will bring your teaching to a new level, making you presentations brighter, more versatile and easy to play. Please view the material below to learn a few basics and how to use it with your Apple devices.

1. Introduction & Use

Quick Start

Your new TV is ready to go! Simply make sure the power cord is plugged in to an outlet, then grab the remote and power it on.

The Apple TV is mounted on the back, and it has a label showing its network name, which should match you classroom number.

Basic TV functions such as power, volume, brightness, HDMI input, etc. can be controlled with the provided remote. However, should your remote ever go missing on you, know that the same operations can be done manually with the built-in buttons (typically located on the back of the TV or on the bottom of the screen frame, depending on TV model).

The TV height is adjustable, please contact IT if you would like to lower or rise it. Do not try it yourself.

  • To stop mirroring, click on the Airplay icon in the menu bar, then choose "Turn AirPlay Off"..

2. Common Troubleshooting

This system has been proven to be very reliable. However, in the off-chance that something doesn't work as expected, here are a few things you can try to quickly restore functionality.

Tip 1: Check the TV inputs

The Airplay sign indicates you are in the right place and ready to connect! However, If you see a different screen chances are the TV accidentally switched to a different video input. In this case, Airplay mirroring won't work.

Try this: Use your remote control to cycle through the various video input until you find the Apple TV.

Extra Tip: Inputs can also be switched from the TV buttons, typically located on the back of the flat panel or on the bottom of the screen frame, depending on the TV model.

Tip 2: Check Cables

If you tried Tip 1 but are still unable to find the Airplay sign, please try this:

1) Look on the back side of your flat panel TV and verify that the two cables connecting to the Apple TV (power and HDMI) are firmly plugged in.

2) If cables look OK, but the problem persists, Simply do a quick reset as explained on Tip 3 →

Tip 3: Quick Reset

When everything else fails, a quick reset is the easiest way to restore normal functionality:

1) Locate the power strip on the lower back side of the rolling cart.

2) switch it off and back on. The whole system will be up and running in just a few seconds!

3) If the Airplay sign still doesn't show up, the TV might be defaulting to a different video input. Use your remote to find the right one.
