Welcome to the junior pathway, here you will find a variety of resources to support your child's learning. Strong home/school connections are important for our learners, especially during these unpredictable times. Sometimes it can be overwhelming to figure out how to approach learning at home with our complex students. If you want your child to be stimulated and challenged but are unsure how to facilitate this in the ‘isolation’ of your own home have a look at the wonderful resources and examples from our Sommerville staff.
Our resources come from a variety of classrooms. Please choose and adapt the parts that work for you and your child. If you like an idea but aren't sure how to adapt it, ask your child's teacher to help modify the activity. Many of our resources use everyday materials found at home or are easily replicated at home.
Spending quality one on one time with your child can have a bigger impact on their learning than trying to focus on a specific skill. Choose something that interests the child and try to see what they see. Remember to take advantage of the opportunities that exist at home — and have fun.

Here you will find a variety of multisensory activities to help develop motor skills, problem solving, communication and social interaction. The more senses our students use in their learning the more likely they are to rememeber what they are learning.
