Description: The Multimedia Communications course will be an introduction for students interested in pursuing careers in fields that incorporate multimedia production, such as news and sports reporting, advertising, corporate communication, and public relations. It will strengthen students’ 21st Century Learning skills of collaboration, communication, and creativity/innovation. The purpose of this course is to provide students with an overview of multimedia skills and equip them to develop digital tools and content for a variety of purposes in multiple mediums. Students will apply and use skills taught in this course to create and edit videos, podcasts, and design content present in websites and digital applications. Students will be responsible for creating morning announcement videos, updating the student launch page slide show, and producing content and longer videos and podcasts for the All Things Spartan channel.

Description: This course is an independent study made up of driven students who want to work in a team environment in order to develop a unique and competitive yearbook. Students need to be highly motivated team players who want to use their creativity in an actual publication. Students will need to meet real-world deadlines for the publisher, become familiar with the basics of photography, photo editing, publishing software, and journalism. Students will have lessons in all these areas to support development of the yearbook. This class offers a unique opportunity to learn and use real-world graphic arts skills, build relationships, and have a finished product at the end of the year that represents all their efforts.
