The AP 2-D Art and Design course is designed to be the equivalent of a one-semester, introductory college course in 2-D art and design. Students develop 2-D skills through materials and processes such as graphic design, photography, collage, printmaking, fashion illustration, collage, and others. They create artwork that reflects their own ideas and skills and what they’ve learned.

Our district policy is to grade for mastery, therefore, students have multiple attempts to show mastery via work.
Incomplete work is usually a D, or work that needs to be largely revised is usually a C.
I use the AP Art & Design rubric to score work, and relative to technical skill, I use Row D of the SI rubric, or the technical skill verbage from the SW rubric. This helps me to determine As, and Bs.
