MEDIA ARTS
Media arts is the interdisciplinary intersection of the arts, humanities, communications and technology. It includes all genres and forms that use electronic media, film and technology (analog and digital; old and new) as an expressive medium to tell a story, elicit emotion or otherwise affect an audience
The media arts standards development process mirrored that of other academic subject areas. The State of Ohio recognizes the fine arts are fundamentally oriented toward producing artifacts that may be collected in a portfolio for assessment. Therefore, formatting of these standards emphasizes studio learning strategies, research of intrinsic mindset and portfolio-based assessment.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES
