The Kansai Regional University fair started out as a partnership between Ritsumeikan-Uji Secondary School in Kyoto and Canadian Academy in Kobe - both located in the Kansai region in western Japan. The event has since grown to include invitations to all local and international high school students throughout western and southern Japan. Senri and Osaka International Schools of Kwansei Gakuin is now a partner host too. Similar to the Kanto Plains Fair structure in Tokyo, the above schools will alternate responsibility for hosting the fair each year.
The first Kansai regional fair took place in September 2017 at Ritsumeikan-Uji Secondary School. About 25 universities from 5 countries were present. The second event took place in September 2018 at Canadian Academy. Ninety universities from a dozen countries were present and more than 400 students & parents from 10 schools attended. Attendees were from local, international, and American DOD schools. A video from the 2018 event is below.
We are planning for similar crowds and attendance for the September 2019 fair which will be hosted by Senri and Osaka International Schools. We look forward to seeing you there!
