Students - prepare to make the most of the upcoming fair!
On this page, you will find some quick tips to keep in mind and helpful questions to ensure you use this opportunity to your advantage.
Tips for making the most of the upcoming fair:
- Review the list of attending universities ahead of the fair to decide which ones you might want to prioritize. Remember to consider which ones might be new to you
- Ask your counselor for recommendations of great options that you might not be familiar with
- Dress appropriately and comfortably. There is no need for suits & ties, but clean and respectful attire will leave a positive first impression
- Arrive early to ensure a smooth check-in and time to see as many admission officers as you like
- If you are coming with a parent or friend, consider splitting your list to ensure that you get all the details you’re searching for
- Remember to separate yourself from the crowd. Your search will be different from that of your peers so don’t be afraid to approach universities that are different from theirs too
Questions you might ask:
- What type of student does your university attract? Alternately, what type of student would not be successful on your campus?
- What is the admission ratio? What are the admission requirements at your university for students following the curriculum that I am studying?
- How does your university view applicants who are undecided about their university course/major?
- What proportion of students on your campus is from my country or is international?
- What sets your university apart from the others I might be considering today?
