Parents - support your child in making the most of the fair!

• Whether your child is in their first year or last year of high school, attending a fair gives them a chance to research, ask questions and sort through opportunities to find the school that best fits their needs.
• Preparation is essential.
  • Encourage your child to research the schools attending the fair, in advance, to get a sense of which representatives they would like to talk with.
  • Ask your child to share the questions they will be asking representatives. Encourage them to ask questions that are specific, personal and are not questions easily found on-line.
• While parents may have many questions at the fair, it’s important to step back and let your child take the lead.
• After the fair:
  • Talk about with your child about their experience at the fair, what they learned and what questions they still have.
  • Check in to see if your child has followed up with the admissions officers that they spoke with at the fair.
• Refer to student expectations for further information.
