Rationale:
The establishment of a mini library program 2.0 within the classroom of ECE to 6, including the Early Childhood Education and Special Education Needs Department, shall provide immediate access to a diverse range of reading materials, fostering a love for reading and supporting literacy development. It encourages independent learning, enhances vocabulary, and improves comprehension skills. By integrating books into the daily classroom environment, students are more likely to develop consistent reading habits and engage in self-directed exploration of topics that interest them.
Objectives:
(a) Addressing the fundamental learning deficits (EDCOM Year II Report) by providing reading material to practice decoding and comprehension at each student’s own level;
(b) Builds a print-rich environment that ignites interest and confidence in reading;
(c) Enhance the reading level proficiency of its students.
