LIBRARY INSTRUCTION PROGRAM
Rationale: The library instruction program for Grade School, High School, and Senior High School students is intended to assists academic instruction by: (a) familiarizing the students with the library’s resources, facilities, and services; (b) teaching them basic library skills such that they know how to utilize information resources; (c) developing their skills in selecting reading materials according to their needs and interests, thus making them independent learners and critical thinkers.
Objectives: Upon completion of library instruction, students will be able to:
1. Know and follow library rules and regulations.
2. Identify the library materials they need and use them accordingly.
3. Know and utilize the different services offered in the library.
4. Learn how to use the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog)
5. Identify the best resources available for use following specific criteria and topic.
6. Understand the social and legal issues regarding the use of information and technology.
7. Appreciate the love for reading and develop lifelong learners who are well-informed and responsible.
