Online Book Request and Outdoor Library Book Return

Objectives:

1. To enable the Sto. Nino Parochial School (SNPS) library users to Borrow & Return easily and safely prior to the lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.

2. To facilitate the borrowing and returning of print materials without violating health protocols to prevent transmission of COVID-19 infection.

Rationale:

NO MORE BORROWING AND RETURNING AT THE FRONT DESK. This service is offered to let snps students borrow books via email and drop off their borrowed books and media resources in book drop boxes located at the main gate of the school.

Process:

BORROWING

▪ All requests should be Fill-out the Google form: https://bit.ly/3jLXttR

▪ The librarian will sanitize and package the books.

▪ A day allowance is provided in case the teacher/ student does not have a specific title in mind, which would require a back-and-forth online conversation wherein the librarian would suggest titles and authors, and the teacher can then choose specific book(s).

▪ Teachers and students may then pick up the book(s). If they are unable to pick up the books, arrangements can be made to have them delivered. This will minimize physical contact between the librarian and teacher/student.

RETURNING

• Contact the Librarian to schedule your ONLINE LIBRARY BOOK RETURN.

• Place the book/s in the designated drop boxes.

Online Library Instruction

Objectives:

1. To develop awareness among library patrons as regards to the Sto. Nino Parochial School (SNPS) Library profile, its collections and its services in particular to the new normal.

2. To help the SNPS Library patrons Know and follow library rules and regulations for new normal.

3. Learn how to use the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog).

4. Identify the best resources for use following a specific criteria and topic.

5. Understand the social and legal issues regarding the use of information and technology.

6. Appreciate love for reading and develop lifelong learners who are well-informed and responsible.

Rationale:

The SNPS Library Instruction Program for students is intended to assist academic instruction by: (a) familiarizing the students with the library’s resources, facilities, and services; (b) teaching them basic library skills such that they know how to utilize information resources; and (c) developing their skills in selecting reading materials according to their needs and interest, thus making them independent learners and critical thinkers.

Process:

1. Communicate with the CI group for scheduling

2. Make an schedule every class for Library Instruction once every semester.

3. Class Adviser / Representative will receive an email with the scheduled library orientation and a link to the meeting room.

4. Class Adviser / Representative will share the link to the class.

5. Students must log-in and join the google meet room at least 10 minutes before the online library instruction.

6. Students who joined and finished the session will answer the Evaluation Form through the link that will be posted after the session:

Library Information and Research Assistance

Objectives:

1. To enable the Sto. Nino Parochial School (SNPS) Library to conduct virtually various reference assistance and services to different library patrons of the school in the new normal during this time of pandemic

2. To respond to and address effectively the online queries of SNPS Library clienteles through online means

Rationale:

This service provides virtual assistance to library users to help them in their information needs. This may include; answering Ready Reference Questions; providing Reader’s Advisory Services and posting through of Library collection FB page and school’s website
