Seeing former Heritage students as the Serrano High School valedictorian and/or leaders in Serrano's various community service clubs brings us a sense of pride and fulfillment. Heritage students arrive at high school prepared and with a strongly ingrained academic work ethic that serves them well! Additionally, Heritage students excel in concurrent classes a Victor Valley College. It is our dream to see students graduate from SHS with both a high school diploma and an AA Degree!

Reputation: Heritage has nearly 30 years of outstanding academic achievement and award-winning community service. Pictured is a ceremony honoring our veterans. Heritage is a K-8 "school of choice" created by parents in 1995 for the advancement of soaring to academic success. A small learning community such as Heritage School allows for the creation of lasting relationships and more family/educator interactions. We are a family and strive to serve and support each other over the school year. PARENTS, WHO JOIN VIPA, ARE INCLUDED AS PART OF DEVELOPING OUR GOALS AND EVEN OUR ACADEMIC PROGRAMS. Our focus on academics and family achieves results. Heritage students dominate Serrano High School's Top 10 every year and have produced the SHS valedictorian or salutatorian nearly every year.  We have alumni attending and receiving academic scholarships to many prestigious institutions in California (such as UCLA, Stanford, UC Berkley, and Cal-Tech) and around the country (such as the University of Chicago, Johns Hopkins, University of Virginia, and Boston College). Many former Heritage students have also gone on to attend our nation's service academies and/or serve in the military. Currently, Heritage has over 100 students (pictured at the left) serving in our nation's Armed Forces with many serving as officers. 

Innovation: Heritage staff members use a diverse approach to learning by bringing the disciplines to life with their content expertise. All Heritage teachers have degrees in the fields that they teach. They are content experts working successfully in their own field outside of the classroom and KNOW how to APPLY the topics they teach to the outside world. Pictured above is our recently purchased high-powered telescope operated by the students during their astronomy studies. Our "Electives" programs allow students to apply knowledge in new and creative ways. 

Destination: The Heritage staff applies the concepts learned in the classroom to student learning by taking "Destination Trips" to see these ideas in practice in the High Desert or greater Southern California communities.  Pictured above is a recent trip to Manzanar National Historic Site. Heritage eighth-grade promotion is a special night as many of our student graduates have been at Heritage since Kindergarten. That is nine years! What we have here is special.
