More about Mrs. Elliott

Grade 7 English Language Arts

I received my BA in English (emphasis in Literature) from California State University, San Bernardino, followed by earning a Masters Degree in Education from Chapman University. I have been teaching English in the Snowline School District since I was twenty-two years old. My sole purpose is to provide the students with the necessary tools not only to be successful at the high school level, but to be successful in any path they may choose to take in life. Some of the areas in which my curriculum focuses on are Greek & Latin, literary analysis, debates, and writing. I believe writing gives them an identity, a voice, and is a way to not only express themselves, but to be creative and give words life.

Hobbies: Spending time with my husband, two kids and our Labrador. Enjoy outdoor adventures, running, finding new food places, and drinking tea/coffee.

Outsiders Day: We recently completed reading the book, The Outsiders, and we did our "Outsiders Day" where we had our party and compared the book with the movie. Pictured here are our "Greasers" and "Socs" groups. Making literature come alive helps us understand what the author is saying.
