Trailblaze Challenge
As many of you know, I have been training for a '28 mile in one day' hike to raise funds for Make-A-Wish San Diego. The hike is on June 1st and I will be out of class on May 31st and will miss our last Flag Salute. We will have Mr. Mark for our substitute that day and the kids are thrilled 😂
It's been fun to share my journey and training hikes with the class. I can also share the link on AllTrails on that Saturday if the kids want to check on my progress (we start at about 4am though). I estimate it will take me 12 to 14 hours, including aid station breaks, to complete the hike. (I'm the tortoise of the group 🐢 😂 Slow and Steady right?!)
Our team (Mrs. Manaktala, Mrs. Hill, 2 PTO Parents from Paloma Elementary and myself) have met and exceeded our fundraising goal of $12,500 and are excited to be ready for this challenge. We are so thankful for all of the support! #forthekids
