Thank you to all of our families for taking the time out of your busy week to meet. It was great to be able to spend the time to review the goals for this year and show our continued support!

This Week in Class

This week we will continue our exploration of multiplication and will be finishing up our Language Arts Unit 2 - Ways Characters Shape Stories. We will be working on our Unit 2 assessment after reviewing the last quiz (shared during conferences.) We will also kick off Unit 3 Animal Adaptations by doing some science exploration.

One animal adaptation we have discussed already is migration, specifically Monarch Migration. We were able to see a few Monarch caterpillars during garden week and we have been working on a Symbolic Migration project through an organization called Journey North. We have made life size paper butterflies that will be sent along the migration route. They will be cared for by the children in schools in the Monarch winter habitat region in Mexico. Then in the spring, we will receive paper butterflies that have traveled from all over North America. In the meantime, getting updates from the winter habitat about the real Monarchs there.
