If you find you need to drop your Dual Enrollment course, first be mindful of the important deadlines and drop before the penalty deadline. If you drop after the no-notation deadline, you will get a mark of a W (Withdrawal) or FW (Failed Withdrawal) on your official transcript which could potentially affect your academic or financial aid standing with Palomar. Please email your school counselor, Mrs. Simpson (areli.simpson@smusd.org), and Ms. Heidi (heidi.harris@smusd.org) if you would like to drop. In addition, please keep in mind that these are college courses and Palomar’s deadlines for adding/dropping a course are set by Palomar and may differ from SMUSD high school courses. All grades are permanent on the SMHS and Palomar transcript.
Note, these dates can be subject to change. For most up to date information, you can log onto your MyPalomar, and go directly to your current courses where you will be able to view course details to determine any drop deadlines.
Drop with no notation on grade: The course will be dropped from your Palomar and SMHS schedule and will not appear on your transcript indicated that you attempted the course.
Last day to drop with "W" (SMHS=W/F)= The course will be dropped from your Palomar and SMHS schedule and will appear on both Palomar and SMHS transcript with a grade of "W" on the Palomar and SMHS transcript.
*Please note for Palomar it could have an affect on credits attempted and affect potential financial aid while/if attending Palomar College. All grades are permanent on both the SMHS and Palomar transcript.
