This elective course is designed for the identified gifted student and is curriculum differentiation above and beyond what is offered in the general education classroom. Students will enhance their creative and critical thinking skills, problem- solving skills, and tools needed to develop independent studies. Verbal and non-verbal communication and leadership skills will also be refined. Students will be evaluated on their ability to communicate and set personal goals for their future, and utilizing their individual strengths, interests and leadership skills. Students will enroll in the S.E.E.K. classroom in accordance with their IEP. The semester course may be repeated for credit.
The availability of a continuum of services is critical for gifted students, and students’ gifted services are confirmed through a special education IEP team decision.
