It is expected that resellers will access our propertiesChangedSince method referenced in
https://api.mrandmrssmith.com/rest/documentation and use this to access property data in our main editorial API. This will also show the reseller new properties that have gone live since the requested date. This should be used to map new properties into the reseller’s system. Please map all hotels using their Property ID, not their Hotel ID.
Additionally, each time a property or room is searched in Nexus, a timestamp is presented containing the last time the property or room was updated. This is an indication that the data for the relevant entity needs to be re-downloaded if the timestamp is newer than that already stored by the reseller.
We do a full update to 'from prices' on our site at 2am and 2pm UK time every day. To prevent you from seeing all properties in the response, we recommend you make this call every 12 hours and set the 'time since' to the 2:45am and 2:45pm (UK Time) mark, as our pricing update is complete by then.
For specific API endpoints that have editorial content in the response, the preferred locale (e.g. en_GB, en_US or simply en) can be specified. A fallback locale can also be set in the case where no content for the specified locale exists. The locale of the returned content (not necessarily the requested locale) is included in the http header, as well as the XML / JSON ‘header’ which is returned in the body of the response as seen below under “Response Formatting”. For detailed usage please refer to Appendix 1.
