Meet The IMPE Team
Mr. Helmick is our technology instructor for the Industrial Maintenance & Production for Employment program. Students work hands on and in the field to gain industry ready experiences to begin working in the manufacturing sector. Students learn OSHA-10 safety training, blueprint reading, precision measurement, hand tools, power tools, machine operation, machine maintenance, introduction to electricity, mechanisms and drives (electric motors, gears, pulleys, etc), and hydraulics and pneumatics.
Mr. Helmick strives to make sure the students are in the field for field trips, job shadows, and eventually for job placement. Students may leave school their senior year to work and get their high school credit to do so.

Mr. Syvanych is our English instructor in the Industrial Maintenance & Production for Employment program. He has been teaching English since 2013 and is passionate about helping students grow as readers and writers. Mr. Syvanych’s goal is to foster employability skills within his students to prepare them for a career after high school. The employability English class focuses on resume writing, job interview skills, financial management, and communication skills necessary for the workforce.

About This Program
Prepare for an in-demand career in this two-year Industrial Maintenance and Production for Employment (IMPE) program! Students will learn the essential skills necessary to run and make repairs to manufacturing machines. Employability skills are also a focal point of the curriculum. Qualified students will be matched with a pre-apprenticeship partner in their second year. These pre-apprenticeships will be paid and will allow for further education to continue outside of the classroom, during the school day, as well as connecting the students to professionals in the industry. CCP is offered for qualified students through Stark State College.
