Meet the Culinary Arts Academy Team Team

Chef Giangaspero graduated in 1997 from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.  She has been in the industry since the age of 15 in different capacities including:  Server, Owner/Operator of a catering company,  Executive Chef, Executive Banquet Chef, and Line Cook.  She has worked in many different types of establishments in the industry including:  catering, fast food, family dining, high end restaurants, prepared foods in a high end market and camp cook.  She earned her degree in teaching and began teaching in 2000. She is passionate about her students, Culinary Arts & Hospitality Studies, and also helping her students find success in the industry.

Mrs. Lee is an instructor in the Culinary Arts & Hospitality Studies Academy.   She is passionate about the program and watching students grow and become successful.  The focus of the Culinary Arts & Hospitality Studies Academy is to teach advanced culinary techniques, hospitality management, and industry related employability skills.    She is a graduate of Slippery Rock University and Kent State University.

Mrs. Ursetti is the Administrative Assistant for Culinary Arts & Hospitality Studies Academy.  She is responsible for managing BOH/FOH. Her focus is on maintaining organization in the Culinary program and assisting the students to achieve success throughout their culinary experience.

Mr. Decker is our English instructor in the Culinary Arts & Hospitality Studies Academy. He has been teaching English in the program since 2015 and is enthusiastic about helping students grow as learners. Mr. Decker’s goal is to teach critical thinking skills within each of his students and to help prepare them for a bright future after high school.

About the Program

Culinary Arts & Hospitality Studies Career-Technical Education Program prepares students for all areas of the demanding and competitive food service and hospitality industry.  Students learn to use commercial food service equipment, as well as advanced knife skills, cooking and baking techniques and advanced culinary skills.  Students have the opportunity to earn ServSafe certification in safety and sanitation.  They also gain real life experience in operating Joshua's, a full service restaurant located at Stow-Munroe Falls High School.  Community based partners offer job shadowing and worksite experiences.
