Assembling the rack & pinion to the Brake Cluster Frame
The rack & pinion is also known as the steering rack
The rack and pinion allows the driver to turn the wheels.
In this image we are installing the pressure switch, plugs, and the AN adapters to the master cylinder. When installing parts to the master cylinder make sure to dry fit then use thread sealant to prevent brake fluid from leaking.
The AN adapters connect the outlet ports of the master cylinder to the brake lines. The master cylinder itself turns pressure on the brake pedal into hydraulic pressure to brake.
When attaching the brake lines make sure the the longer line is on the right when looking at the pressure switch.
The emergency/ parking brake is a series of fittings that allows the flow of brake fluid to be blocked. The reducing nipple can go on either side of the line lock ball valve.
By pressing on the brake and closing the line lock ball valve, the brake fluid stays pressurized, maintaining pressure on the brake pads.
The rear master assembly is simple, putting the brake fluid reservoir and plugs.
The difference in the rear is that there is no pressure switch and the emergency brake is attached.
