Space, as one of the classic seven elements of art, refers to the distances or areas around, between, and within components of a piece. Space can be positive or negative, open or closed, shallow or deep, and two-dimensional or three-dimensional.
Creating perspective in art relies on the judicious use of space. In a linear perspective drawing, for instance, artists create the illusion of space to imply that the scene is three-dimensional. They do this by ensuring that some lines stretch to the vanishing point.
ASSIGNMENT: The objective of this lesson is to draw a one-point perspective room. In one-point perspective, all diagonal lines lead to the same point, called the vanishing point. Students designed and created their dream rooms, including furniture, skylights, and home decor.
1) Choose an option:
OPTION 1: Draw your room at home.
OPTION 2: Draw your dream room.
2) Think of 3 pieces of furniture in your room as well as 3 objects you would find on the walls / floor of your room. Write them in a word / text document on the computer.
3) Use the videos attached for drawing perspective drawings, start drawing your room.
