Value defines how light or dark a given color or hue can be. Values are best understood when visualized as a scale or gradient, from dark to light.
Making a shattered drawing turns a normal drawing into a distorted image that looks like it has literally shattered. In order to achieve such level of coolness, one must use alternating values within each section. Sections are created by drawing twelve straight lines from a center point or drawing lines across the paper. All you need is pencil, paper and something to make a straight edge like a postcard, ruler or a piece of mail.
