The Engineering Program

The engineering program prepares students for entry into a two or four-year college engineering program. It will apply problem-solving techniques and concepts of mechanical drafting and CADD, 3-D design and modeling, CNC operations, coding for robotics, reverse engineering, electrical vehicle technology, drone design and autonomous operation, and G-Code along with other engineering innovations. They will also learn project management skills, and how to operate workshop tools, understand material usage resources, precision measurement, organize information processing, and decipher system analysis. Students will have the option to get their AutoCAD Certified User Exam and/or their SolidWorks Mechanical Design Certification Exam.   If students meet specific criteria within the program, they will also be awarded up to 15 articulated credits toward the College of Southern Maryland’s specified engineering programs.   Students who earn Engineering degrees go on to work in many different fields, including Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Chemical, and Aerospace Engineering, as well as Architecture and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing.
