Instrument rental options through SMCPS are limited. We rent out every instrument we can, but no one is guaranteed a rental.
Instrument rental prices from a store do vary - a cello is going to be more expensive to rent than something smaller like a violin.
Basses and cellos cannot be transported on the bus. They require parent drop off and pickup from school.
Your student will need other materials with an instrument. I will list those materials on each page.
String instruments are made in different sizes. If you are interested in your child playing a string instrument, make sure to look at this sizing chart. This information is also available on the enrollment Google Form.

3rd Grade:
Orange: AB Mondays, B Wednesdays
Pink: AB Thursdays, A Tuesdays
4th Grade:
Blue: AB Mondays, B Wednesdays
Yellow: AB Fridays, B Tuesdays
5th Grade:
Black: AB Fridays, B Tuesdays
Strings 2-Week Practice Log - Students may use this log to keep track of their own practice time. They can pick up a blank one from Dr. Alvey or print out a copy at home. Parents can sign off that they practiced 10 minutes a day, and students turn in these logs every two weeks.
