From a cinch to a sudden wipeout, the Synergy Team slipped through for a razor-thin comeback victory—21-19, against their seniors, Grade 12, in the E-Sports Tournament in Day 2 of Intramurals 2025.

Audiences held their breaths witnessing the cut-throat match, as the Grade 11 team—Adrian Arceo, Eimille David, Elton Liñgat, Meikel Lopez, and Lance Violago—attempted to bring the triumph in their hands, the 12th Graders were already in the prior team’s base, ready to finish the match themselves.

Wiping out the younger team cleared wide-open the winning opportunity for them, but Synergy made sure to let everyone know that the match is not yet done until they finish it themselves.

“We thought that all hope was lost, as they marched towards our base. Our mid laner [Eimille] was the only one alive to defend, while our EXP Laner [Lance] waited for his death timer,” said Arceo who filled in the MVP spot as Frederin, carrying in seven kills, three deaths, and eight assists to the team.

“Panalo na dapat kami kaso [naging] greedy kaya ‘di [kaagad] natapos, pero ayun na-comeback namin pabalik,” added Violago who played Phovues.

Facing difficulties within the first five minutes of the game, they not only needed to utilize their heroes’ skillset via massive teamfights, teamwork mattered in uplifting each other up.

After taking out their opponents, Synergy made the mistake of forcefully attempting to finish the game, which led them to the reverse-wipe that almost took away their chances.

“If the opposing team had gone for the Lord instead of desperately trying to end the game like what our team tried, they probably would have won,” said the MVP.

Frederin sustained the team as the core, second to him in the rankings was Liñgat with 20 assists as the roam and healer, followed by David with 7-4-8 stats, almost equal with the MVP.

Phovues dealt three kills and 11 assists, and Lopez contributed four kills and two assists.
