The Trump administration has banned almost 200 words and phrases from being used in any official capacity by any U.S. Government agency. Every agency, including educational, clean energy, inclusivity, disability, and health programs across the United States.

This list only came to light when a Head Start program from Wisconsin came forward that, after submitting a funding request to the Federal government, was told to remove words from their application. The words in the email included “racism,” “race,” and “racial.” The director of the program then asked for the full list of words; this list is what's available to us now.

The Head Start program is a national initiative that serves preschool-aged children with childcare, education, food, and health. I find this to be completely dystopian; these programs are forced to remove these words, meaning these children will be unable to receive proper education on simple human things.

The list of banned words and phrases includes “Accessible, Racism, Clean energy, Equality, Female, Disability, Women, LGBTQ, Uterus, Pregnant, and Gender.” This comes directly from the list of banned words. All these words have since been seen to be removed from U.S. government websites. What requires them to be so against something as to completely erase it?

Many of the banned words do include scientific terms such as “microplastics,” “emissions,” and even the term “science-based,” and the effect on scientific research is being affected. Professionals and scientists are censoring their own research in order to appease the U.S. Government. All this in an effort to not be shut down and be refused funding. How will this affect the scientific community if words such as "uterus," "women," "bird flu," "historically," and "emissions" are all banned? 

And this is not just trying to remove what they consider to be “bad.” For example, the “Cancer Moonshot,” a program that was started and managed by previous administrations that aims to cut U.S. cancer deaths in half, is being erased by the Trump administration. 

The Trump administration is waging its war on words, and I don't believe that this will be the last we hear of it. They’re trying to control the dictionary; they're banning terms that they consider to be part of a “woke agenda.” When in reality, it all comes down to control, and you cannot criticize what doesn't exist.

In my opinion, the Trump administration is based on hate. It bans everything it opposes in order to reach its own agenda. Eroding truth makes it easier for them to erode human rights for all, not just their enemies. Because for them, truth is the enemy.
