All day, they munch and gobble on treats, drift away into a deep slumber, scratch the last thing you expect them to, and yet they leave a mark so deep in our hearts.

Cats are fascinating creatures with eye-catching features from the animal family of Felidae. You can see them walking on all fours with their luscious fur, plump paws, and strikingly long whiskers. With every step, they bring a presence so delicate yet commanding, graceful yet untamed, captivating yet mysterious. Their round eyes glow like the moon at night, looking at you with a relaxed gaze, often reflecting their alert presence and tender affection. 

They work under a blanket of stars. 

When the clock hits 6:00 pm and the sun continues to descend, humans tend to be more worn out during those hours, especially after a long day of grueling labor. Cats are crepuscular, meaning they are most productive at dawn and dusk.  Whilst we are in the comfort of our beds, lost in dreams, our felines like to hunt and explore their domain, immersed by the beauty of darkness. This roots from their developed ability to see in low-light environments as mice and birds are active at dawn. 

A sharp ear for the slightest whisper.

For people who have cats as pets, calling them by their name can either be a piece of cake or a task that can leave your voice sore and strained. At times, cats choose not to respond because, just like us, they need alone time too. Interestingly enough, cats have an alert sense of hearing sounds. Their ears are capable of detecting high frequencies as the sounds their prey make are oftentimes high-pitched. 

Soft purrs, sweet smiles, endless memories. 

For us, cats are only a portion of our busy day. But for them, we are their whole life.  Behind the razor sharp teeth and piercing stares lie an animal that can love just as much as a human can—just done differently. 

Whether it’s a simple “meow” or a scratch in the head, cats can make us forget about our problems, even for just a short moment. Their warm embrace gives its owner an otherworldly feeling you can’t find anywhere else, a comfort that assures you that, yes, you are loved and seen. 

Every passing moment with them proves that they shrink the negativity in our lives and replaces it with an everlasting sense of security, peace, and pawsitivity.
