Pedagogy

CTTL Update: All Praxis workshops this Fall will be conducted synchronously via Zoom (see schedule). As possible, the CTTL is working to resume in-person services but will also continue to offer services via Zoom and other remote options.

Site note: The Instructional Continuity resources page is no longer in the blue box on our homepage (that is now for Canvas help), but it can be found in the resources section in the left sidebar.

The Reinert Center can be reached at cttl@slu.edu or email Gina Merys directly at gina.merys@slu.edu.

Instructors and students for ENGL 1900 will use our in-house textbook, Eloquentia Perfecta, which is available on the ebook platform TopHat. In this video, you can find a walk-through of how to set up TopHat for your students, courtesy of Ann, our 2021-22 rep.

University Resources

(for instructors looking to assist undergraduates but also for graduate students!)

The Dean of Students Office assists students in a variety of ways to help maximize their success and wellbeing as college students. Please visit their site for more details on the resources and support services they provide as well as how to reach them.

Additionally, the Dean of Students Office will be hosting a campus-wide training via Zoom for faculty, staff, and admin, which we strongly encourage you to attend. The training will be available live and via recording after the training. Date and time are TBD, but please be on the lookout for those details later in the summer, and, of course, feel free to reach out to them if you (or your students) have any questions.

Disability Services Update: Recently renamed the Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources (CADR), they now have an ADHD Coach and two Coordinators (rather than one): Alex Rogers and Myles Urban.

Hours: They are currently in the office Monday through Friday, and students can schedule in-person or virtual appointments via EAB Navigate.

Please visit their site for more details.

*Correction: The CADR Director is Kendra Johnston (kendra.johnston@slu.edu). Apologies for the misspelling!

Please note: Going forward, information literacy instruction will take place external from ENGL 1900, but the library does have important resources you and your students should be aware of (such as their Research Guides for English).
