Curriculum Expectations

ENGL 1500

Required Curriculum

All ENGL 1500 courses are expected to follow the same overarching structure, with specific assignments, content length, and course values as described in the document here.

While instructors are encouraged to devise their own short writing assignments, lessons, reading lists, and other learning activities, the course learning objectives and major assignments should be universal across all sections.

ENGL 4000 (Under Construction)

Recommended Curriculum

The Writing Program recommends that ENGL 4000 courses follow the structure and objectives described in the document here.

Instructors are not required to use this curriculum structure, but we hope that instructors (particularly those new to teaching 4000) will find it helpful as a starting point and as a way to segue students from ENGL 1900 into the more complex objectives of ENGL 4000.
