Snail of Approval Application
WHAT IS THE SNAIL OF APPROVAL?
The Slow Food Snail of Approval is an award given by the Slow Food Vegas chapter to celebrate food and/or beverage establishments or nonprofits that embrace Slow Food values of good, clean, and fair food for all. The Snail of Approval recognizes and celebrates businesses that make commitments to the environment, our local community, their employees and purveyors, and to our core values of antiracism and anti-oppression.
The Snail of Approval award is given by the Slow Food Vegas chapter based on evaluations focused on the following six areas:
HOW TO APPLY?
Complete the online Eligibility Application.
The application takes approximately 30 - 45 minutes to complete
The application cannot be saved, it must be completed in its entirety once you begin
For convenience, the application can be previewed here
If the application is for a particular program within the business, (wine, coffee, etc...), please complete the application focusing on the program for which you are applying
Applicants that receive a passing score will be contacted to schedule an interview and site visit.
Slow Food Vegas will consider the application, interview, and site visit when making a determination.
Didn't receive a Snail of Approval award? No worries! We're here to help and are happy to work with you on how to raise your score.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Any food and/or beverage establishment or nonprofit that produces, offers products for public consumption, or supports equitable access to food and/or beverage and is pursuing and practicing Slow Food values may apply. For example, restaurants, farms, ranches, fisheries, cafes, bars, food trucks, breweries, wineries, caterers, value-added food producers, purveyors, food pantries, community gardens are all welcome to complete the online application.
WHY APPLY?
The Snail of Approval symbolizes hard work and commitment to Slow Food values. If eligible, your business will receive:
An official Snail of Approval decal to display at your place of business
An official Snail of Approval logo to display on your website or menu
Slow Food Vegas social media promotion
Slow Food Vegas website recognition
Nationwide recognition in a directory & map
