What We'll Do:
As part of Slow Food Vegas’ commitment to fostering sustainable, local food systems, we adopted the garden at Aggie Roberts Elementary early this year. For our first event at the school, volunteers will help us clean and refresh the garden beds by pulling weeds, removing dead plants, and adding fresh soil. Your efforts will help inspire the next generation of students to engage with and appreciate fresh, homegrown produce!
What to Bring:
Closed-toe shoes
Comfortable clothing
Sunscreen
Gloves, a spade/small shovel, and a water bottle
Any favorite gardening tools you’d like to use
We Provide:
Bottled water, drinks, and snacks to keep you going!
Help us nurture this special space for the kids. Together, we can make a lasting impact on our community!
If you are unable to join us, you can still support Aggie Roberts School Garden Club by purchasing items on their Amazon Wishlist.
Email keri@slowfoodvegas.org to volunteer!
Farmers Markets selling fresh grown produce may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think desert living. But actually, there are several markets around the Valley giving residents access to lots of locally and regionally grown produce.
We have an exciting opportunity coming up, and we'd love for you to be a part of it. Slow Food Vegas is teaming up with The Just One Project for a volunteer event that's all about giving back to our community.
What's Happening:
We'll be unloading pallets of food, distributing them to the community,
and assisting with digital check-ins, so there's something for everyone to do.
What to Bring:
Friends and family members (all ages)
Wear comfy clothes and closed-toed shoes
Don’t forget your sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen
Bring your own water bottle (we'll have water, but it's always good to have your own)
We have limited amount of spaces, so sign up early 😏.

Slow Food Vegas was thrilled to host our next meetup at Half Bird Chicken and Beer on Thursday, July 18. We enjoyed some leveled-up snacks, heard from a few of our Snail of Approval awardees, and shared updates on our Snail of Approval program and our adopted school garden at Aggie Roberts Elementary School. Big thanks to Snail of Approval Awardee Alt Imports for hosting an artisanal beer tasting and to Half Bird Chicken & Beer for their tremendous support! Congrats to our winners of two $25 gift cards to Half Bird Chicken & Beer - thank you for your support of Slow Food.
May 22nd marks Slow Food USA’s inaugural Biodiversity Advocacy Day. We cannot simply admire biodiversity and bask in its glory. We must demand systemic change that can stimulate and nourish biodiversity from coast to coast (and in our oceans and waterways, too!).
