Stephen ZagRodny
About
Stephen ZagRodny is an American actor, director, and San Luis Obispo High School alumnus who served as President of the Drama Club from 2016–2018. He is widely credited as a catalyst for growth in the club, achieving a record season of six plays in his second term, founding the annual 24-Hour Musical, and championing the return of Coffee Night. ZagRodny also quickly became a regular lead in mainstage productions, and found unprecedented success as a student director.
ZagRodny was appointed co-president, along with Augusta Holyfield, by outgoing President Sarah Garcia on May 22, 2016. He gained notability as an actor later that year, landing the male lead in Arsenic and Old Lace (2016). He made his directing debut later that school year with A Very Potter Musical (2017), which became immensely popular both inside and outside the Drama Club. Launching into senior year, he additionally became known for his leading roles in The Importance of Being Earnest (2017) and Bye Bye Birdie (2018), as well as directing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2017) and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (2018). ZagRodny also performed with the Improv Team for his final years of high school.
ZagRodny graduated in 2018. Upon their exit, he and President Holyfield appointed Cati Newlon and Ella Livingston to assume leadership of the club.
