24-Hour Musical
The 24-Hour Musical is an annual theatrical event hosted by the Drama Club. It is a production which the cast and crew only has twenty-four hours to rehearse and produce the entirety of.
Actors audition blindly, without being told what the production is; the cast list and musical are announced simultaneously late in the school week, and all aspects of production (including set construction, choreography, and costuming) are conducted over the course of day before a single live performance on a Saturday night.
The most recent 24-Hour production, High School Musical, occurred September 10, 2022. The show title was revealed on September 8.

History
The 24-Hour Musical was first established in 2017 and was directed by Drama Club presidents Stephen ZagRodny and Augusta Holyfield. After a three-year hiatus due to 2019 venue renovations and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was revived in 2022. In its history, the 24-Hour Musical has been staff directed only once, in 2018; its short format and low time commitment have made it an effective place for students who want to try their hand at directing.
The event has been used by the Drama Club primarily as a recruiting measure, as it gives students interested in theatre a sample of the environment and process without committing to months of rehearsals.
