The cast list of SLOHS Iambic Pentameter's Much Ado About Nothing (2021), which is set to air in late April, was released internally to the Drama Club last night, as well as via social media a few hours later. Actors auditioned all throughout last week, ending last Friday, and was cast by theatre adviser Noelle Eben. The cast features notable appearances from actresses Penny DellaPelle, Ava Walsh, and Rozy Jones, who previously performed in Iambic Pentameter's 2019 production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. DellaPelle is also part of a group of SLO REP Academy of Creative Theatre alumni who swept Much Ado's leading credits, which additionally includes Linnaea Marks, Sophia Lea, Evan Clausen and Charley Beck.

Marks, as Beatrice, will be making her SLOHS Drama debut alongside newcomer Mark Rourke, playing Benedick. Viewers will get to see Clausen and Lindsay Smith, stars of the canceled 2020 production of Rent, reunited (on-screen) as Claudio and Hero, as well as Party Hop's Elias Stepro as Conrade. Actors Tyler Kowalski, Xavier Clements, and Kat van Lingen are also making their debut on the virtual SLO High stage.

Following The Party Hop (2021), Much Ado About Nothing will be the Drama Club's second fully virtual show. However, while the former will be livestreamed in February via Zoom, Much Ado About Nothing will be prerecorded and broadcast on YouTube after a brief period of post-production. The show, student directed by Iambic Pentameter head Ian McKay, will run for a limited time in April 2021, with a premiere date to be announced. Additional crew includes costuming by Netti Wulfman, who will be starring next month as Ava in The Party Hop.
