Numerous CLPL opportunities are available to staff to enhance their knowledge and understanding and confidence to respond to and support pupils who display low level mental health related illnesses as well as pupils in crisis.
This programme forms part of our monthly Planned Learning Activities and Professional Reading Group.
All staff are invited to participate in various activities to enhance their own mental wellbeing as well as their colleagues, such as ‘Project smile’. This encouraged staff to think of others, leaving a short supportive message and small gift to lift the spirits of colleagues.
During lock down, staff were ask to showcase the activities they engaged in to promote positive mental health to our young people, as well as a staff Quiz to bring everyone together at such a challenging time.
Furthermore, staff have been participating in a group challenge, in mixed fitness ability teams, to complete running and walking targets, helping to get staff up and moving during the months of November and December. Staff have reported improvements in their physical and mental wellbeing, as well as their sleeping habits.
