Mitthem is transitioning the student apartments from Nacksta to Oscargatan until 2027. Every room in both places are furnished with a bed, a desk, a desk chair and a wardrobe. You will need to bring your own blankets and pillow, as well as duvets! The bed size is 200cm x 90cm.
Nacksta has shared apartments where you'll live with either other international students or Swedish students. Oscarsgatan has single-apartments.
The apartments at Förrådet (Dalgatan, Grönborgsgatan) are not furnished.
If you do not want to bring these things, you can go to IKEA and we recommend checking out the second hand shop Erikshjälpen, which is on the way to Ikea.
On the Mitthem website, there is a (quite hidden) section in English, where a lot of questions are already answered. You can also create an account there which can be used to see your invoices, book time for laundry and other information. To create an account, you'll need the social-secruity-number, which you can find on your contract.
Rent has to be paid in advance each month and Mitthem is quite strict about it being on time. You'll get an invoice via mail or on your account. If your bank takes a fee for transfers to Sweden, you can check if services like Wise are cheaper.
Included in your lease, are 2Mbits/min, but you have to bring your own router!
If you want to upgrade your connection go to:
https://tjanster.servanet.se/serviceguide/
This page is only available in Swedish, but it should be understandable when you translate it with Google. There are often offers by different providers, so you can get really cheap contracts that you can cancel with 1 month notice.
If you need to provide a personnummer try YYYYMMDD-0000, if this doesn't work you need to email the support of the provider you want to choose.
NACKSTA: If you are lucky and you have a roommate that stays longer than you, the kitchen is usually fully stocked with pots, pans, plates and cutlery. If you are a little less lucky, the kitchen will be unequipped, but you can get all those things for fairly cheap prices at IKEA or ICA. Everyone of the three roommates has plenty of storage space, which is already fairly divided.
Oscarsgatan: Rigth now, the kitchen is not stocked with kitchenware. We're working on a solution to bring old kitchenware from Nacksta to Oscarsgatan. Reach out via the groupchat to us if you'll live in Oscarsgatan and we'll try to find someone who is moving away and doesn't need their kitchenware anymore.
FÖRRÅDET: The apartments at förrådet does not come with any kitchen supplies so we recommend visiting IKEA, ICA or a second hand store to get some cheap kitchen supplies. The apartments have limited freezer and pantry space.
In Nacksta every flat has one big bathroom and one small guest toilet. The bathrooms have either a bathtub or a shower, as well as cupboards.
In Oscarsgatan, showers are shared with other students.
At förrådet the apartments have one bathroom with a shower, toilet, and a mirror and some kind of storage cabinet.
Before buying all the things you think you might need, check out the storage rooms in the flat! There might be some useful stuff or decorations left by previous flatmates!
