Fall Semester
Seniors only - Prerequisite: Instructor approval
This leadership and collaboration course explores roles, responsibilities, and leadership styles by putting you in the driver’s seat of a small, poorly run non-profit. You will learn the basics of leadership, decision-making, collaboration, and culture building, and apply that knowledge to make the non-profit a success. In doing so, you will also begin to define your own leadership style. Student Leaders complete activities and projects associated with various campus life events and functions in addition to course content.

Spring Semester
Seniors only - Prerequisite: Student Leadership 1 and/or instructor approval
This course builds on the knowledge gained in Student Leadership 1. You will explore the characteristics and interactions of the four personality profile types. You will define and solidify your leadership style and capacity to collaborate with and lead others. You will learn practical frameworks, tools, and skills; all of which help you select, form, and lead a successful team. You will learn the art of organizational culture building in a variety of areas. Student Leaders complete activities and projects associated with various campus life events and functions in addition to course content.
0216 Campus Life Leadership
Seniors only - Prerequisite: Instructor approval
Students taking this course will learn the basics of leadership, decision-making, collaboration, and culture building, and apply that knowledge to their everyday life. In doing so, you will also begin to define your own leadership style. Students plan, organize and execute tasks related to liturgical and school activities with the support of Campus Life Leadership team. Students will take care of physical campus spaces, plan events, perform Christian service, learn valuable leadership lessons and assist with the overall operations of Campus Life and Student Services. This is NOT a “free” or “study” period. Seniors should expect to work during this period and will have graded coursework through Canvas and participation in class on various activities and projects.

This course is designed to provide senior students with an opportunity to learn practical academic and life skills that will prepare them for college and life as an adult. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: demonstrate knowledge, skills, and strategies related to studying, organizational skills, and stress management; demonstrate the ability to find academic, mental, and emotional health resources on college campuses; understand how to work through conflict with peers, supervisors, and professors; apply principles for financial success; show proficiency in how to communicate by telephone and email; demonstrate an ability to create personal standards and principles that enhance character development.

This course helps you discover the causes that you are most passionate about. It will help you explore careers and skills that will enable you to make worthwhile contributions toward those causes. Through this course you will consider different types of post-secondary education and learn and share specific knowledge or experiences that will help as you make this transition into college life.
0226 Retail Intern (RI) - Saint Paul's Place Retail Intern

Prerequisite: Application and interview process
Juan Diego Catholic High School Retail Interns learn retail management and marketing through the support of Saint Paul's Place managerial team. Senior high school student interns will service customers, experience buying, purchasing, inventory management, and marketing. Interns learn and complete visual merchandising and display products. Assignments throughout the year include social media marketing strategies, tracking its progress, and reporting results. JDCHS senior students apply by application and interview process.
1150 Learning Center

Open to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors
Prerequisite: Counselor approval and registered for 2 or more Advanced courses
Learning Center is designed to give academically motivated students the opportunity to begin assigned homework, research information for projects or assignments, makeup missed tests or quizzes and otherwise continue their academic progress toward graduation. It will be scheduled into the student’s open period and is graded pass/fail. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good standing in regards to discipline and attendance.
0111 Independent Study
Open to Seniors
Prerequisite: Counselor approval
This course allows students to learn about a subject that's unavailable in our school's established curriculum or about a topic the student would like to explore in greater depth. It requires individual initiative and responsibility. The course includes limited instruction and faculty supervision. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good standing in regards to discipline and attendance.
