Capitalism/Socialism

Unit Plan

1. Students will learn about the Theory of Karl Marx.

2. Students will analyze and distinguish the differences between Capitalism, Socialism, and Communism.

3. Students will learn the different economic theories as to how an economy should be run (Capitalism, Socialism, Communism)

4. Students will analyze the economic implementation of Capitalism and Socialism and the inequality or equal distribution of wealth it has produced.

5. Students will understand the history of the Chinese Revolution and the Mao's attempted implementation of Socialistic principles and the effect that resulted from his actions.

6. Students will devise a "solution" to the economic strengths and weaknesses of both Capitalism and Socialism and propose a system that produces the "best" results for an economy.
