Etiquette/Travel Brochure
Unit Plan
Verbal and nonverbal behavior help define your social skills when meeting people. You can demonstrate proper etiquette (in most Western Civilization influenced societies) by using effective handshakes, maintaining eye contact, and making the appropriate introductions. In addition, there are certain actions (verbal and non-verbal) that may be considered a Faux Pas (an embarrassing or tactless act or remark in a social situation). Proper behavior based on the social situation varies around the world, but is critical in establishing respect and rapport between people.
This unit will introduce students to the various ways people around the world interact in common social situations.
