My Philosophy

The school library should serve as the heart of student-centered learning in today's world. The COVID-19 pandemic and its associated complications provided schools worldwide with an opportunity to pause and reflect on their practices. Librarians are uniquely positioned to advocate for students by supporting them with the necessary skills and resources to succeed both academically and socially. In addition to fostering a love of reading, librarians instruct students on how to find, evaluate, and use information ethically and effectively, and provide them with the resources to do so. Furthermore, librarians can prove invaluable as coaches and collaborators for both new and experienced teachers, helping to integrate information literacy skills and modern technology into lesson plans. By providing flexible space, a welcoming atmosphere, and up-to-date technology, the school library can continue to be an integral part of a thriving culture of creativity and critical thinking.
