Teacher Librarian ~Innovative, Collaborative, and Committed to Students

Currently a student at San Jose State's School of Information, I've worked as a teacher librarian for two years and have developed a variety of skills, including the ability to manage library resources, assist students with research, and organize library programs and events such as the annual Nevada County Reads and Writes. In my role as a school librarian, I offer a range of services and programs to students, teachers, and parents. These include book clubs, research assistance, and other initiatives that promote literacy and learning. Focused on equity as well as student innovation and ownership of their learning, I'm also skilled in technology integration and use a variety of tools and platforms to enhance the library experience for my patrons.

My monthly book displays are audited for equity and representation and focused on meeting the students where they live: here you can see my Tik Tok book based display.

I am available to work collaboratively with classroom teachers to help students find and evaluate information for use in research and inquiry projects.

Students can come into the library to work together on projects or to learn from visiting scholars. Here students are working with the county poet laureate on finding their own voice. Student work is submitting for publishing in our district literary magazine as well as on websites featuring new and emerging writers.
