Presentations and Outreach

2024 SJSU College of Engineering Showcase

The Student Showcase and Celebration hosted by the SJSU Davidson College of Engineering was an event that celebrated student innovation, research, and design. Six teams from ARMS Lab presented their projects on the design, development, and control of assistive devices to the audience. The hand exoskeleton team received the "Most Innovative Project" award.

2023 ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition (IMECE)

ASME IMECE is an event where research leaders from academia, government, and industry converge to make connections and share insights for innovation across engineering disciplines. Dr. Sharifi had three presentations at the ASME IMECE 2023 in New Orleans, USA, on the design and development of the knee, ankle, and upper limb exoskeletons under the topic of "Rehabilitation Robotics".

2023 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics

Design and Development of a Lightweight, High-Torque, and Cost-Effective Hip Exoskeleton

This 26th edition of AIM, co-sponsored by esteemed organizations, such as the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) and ASME Dynamic Systems, brought together a diverse community of researcher experts, and enthusiasts. Jaime presented the current physical and mechatronics design of the lower limb exoskeleton. Additionally, experimental results were presented demonstrating the trajectory tracking performance using the proposed controller.

2023 SJSU College of Engineering Showcase

The Student Showcase and Celebration hosted by the SJSU Davidson College of Engineering offered an opportunity to witness the impressive projects of some of the brightest students, connect with the next generation of engineers, and engage with Silicon Valley professionals. Four teams from ARMS Lab presented their projects on the design, development, and control of assistive devices to the audience. The upper limb exoskeleton team received the "Most Engaging Project" award.

2023 SJSU RSCA in 5 Talk

The "RSCA in Five: Faculty Short Talks" series at SJSU promotes collaboration among faculty members. Dr. Sharifi participated in the series on “Human Factors/Human Tech Interaction” and had a talk about “Safe and Stable Human-Robot Interaction for Assistance and Rehabilitation”.
