This project is intended to make polymeric covers for wheel walkers. The project is to be broken into two parts: the design and the fabrication of the cover. The wooden mold will be designed and fabricated to accommodate the RTV mold. The wooden mold comes from measuring the dimensions of a wheel walker and was then cut by hand. The RTV cast will be used to fabricate the real ABS cover. The RTV silicone will have two sides. Side 1 will be the silicone base, and side 2 will be the catalyst to speed up the curing time. The wooden mold would be placed into a wooden box, and the RTV silicone would be poured over it to create the cast. After the cast is cured, the ABS polymer will be melted and poured into the cast to create the cover. Mechanical characterization such as creep tests, harness tests, and tensile tests will be performed to evaluate the cover's durability.
