Course Overview
In Spanish 1, students will build skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through interactive lessons, activities, and projects. We will use the Senderos 1A workbook along with class materials.

Binder (notes, vocabulary, activities, tests)
Senderos 1A workbook (keep safe and organized)
Chromebook and school supplies Expectations
We will respect the teacher, classmates, property, and the learning process.
We will come prepared, on time, and ready to participate.
We will do our own work and follow school/classroom rules.
Grading
Homework 10%
Class Participation 40%
Exams/Tests 50%
Policies
Missed Work: Check Google Classroom for lessons and assignments. Missed work is due by the following class for full credit.
Tests: If absent, tests must be made up within the week you return.
Retakes: Available after corrections and a retake form. Retake score replaces the original.

Attendance & Preparedness
Good attendance is key to success in Spanish! Students are expected to:
Arrive on time
Come prepared with materials
Be ready to participate fully in class activities

Exams/Tests - 50 %
Students can earn up to 10 points each class by:
Staying on task and following class expectations
Participating in all activities
Putting consistent effort into assignments
Using Spanish whenever possible
Assignments:
Most work will be completed and submitted during class
If work is not finished, it must be turned in by the next class for full credit
Assessments & Projects
Unit Tests: Given at the end of each unit to bring together vocabulary and grammar.
Projects (Junior High only): Opportunities to showcase Spanish skills and knowledge.
Class Time: Several class sessions will be provided to work on projects.
Due Dates: Clearly communicated in advance.
Format: Some projects will be individual, others will be group-based.
Accountability: Students are responsible for their own contributions and for working collaboratively in group projects.
