The LEST Writing Event is a fun and supportive workshop where elementary students get to create and share their own original poem. Led by college professors from Concordia University Irvine, this two-hour event guides students step-by-step through the writing process. Students will learn about a type of poetry, write their own poem, receive kind and helpful feedback from trained university writers, and then share their work in a positive “open mic” celebration. No previous writing experience is needed, and all materials will be provided. It’s a wonderful opportunity for young writers to build confidence, creativity, and joy in writing!
