🔬 The LEST Science Exposition is an exciting, hands-on event where students work as a team to solve a scientific challenge! It’s designed for students who love asking questions, experimenting, and thinking creatively.
The event is led by Montana Mellody and Josiah Rensner from Concordia University Irvine.
How It Works
Schools enter teams of two students.
The scientific challenge is revealed at the event — no prior studying or special background knowledge is required.
Teams must stay for the entire event.
If a student is absent, an alternate may step in.
If a team arrives late, they may still participate but will begin with the remaining time.
Each team may have one adult in the room at a time to supervise and take photos. Adults may not assist or communicate with students during the competition.
What Students Will Do
During the exposition, students will:
Use the scientific method
Create a testable hypothesis
Conduct a hands-on experiment
Work together to analyze their results
Draw thoughtful conclusions
This event encourages teamwork, critical thinking, and creativity in a fun and supportive setting. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to grow in confidence while exploring the exciting world of science!
