Simultaneous with the 48th foundation anniversary of the institution, Saint Joseph Institute of Technology (SJIT) committed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with United Maritime Training Center (UMTC) which was carried out during the soft opening of SJIT’s foundation celebration at the SJIT – Maritime Education and Training (SMET) campus, September 25, 2019.
A German national and Mr. Donald Bautista, representatives from UMTC with the SJIT’s Executive Vice President, Nicole Joy Salas locked in the mutual agreement which paved way to various benefits for the institution. The agreement then allowed HRM (Hotel and Restaurant Management) graduating students to have their trainings and on-the-job trainings at UMTC preferably in Manila offices.
Maritime Academy Dean, C/M Samuel Lim remarked about the good interaction between the representatives and selected maritime students during a small forum latter to the signing. Offering a good first impression, the event could possibly lead students to being tapped by UMTC and dispatched to the maritime industry as competent seafarers.
