Maritime Blue Marlins clinched its first title after devastating the CBIT Golden Eagles in a stunning three-set sweep, 25-17, 25-21, 25-18, in their Men’s Volleyball Championship Game at SJIT Annex Gym last September 28, 2018.
Veteran Captain Robert Crebillo of the Blue Marlins dragged CBIT out of the court after fired 8 spikes with 5 kills and 4 blocks leading his team to an overwhelming triumph.
Golden Eagles blew away a strong wind enabling them to capture 6 points lead in the middle going of the first set, but when the tide turning to Marlins’ favor, they brought back their current and made an elusive run to snatch the set, 25-17.
Golden Eagles tried to dethrone Blue Marlins in the second set headed by their team Captain, Alden Camangyan and fired up a terrifying spikes and created a mighty wall defense to steal the crown but the beak of Blue Marlins shattered its defense and squandered their chance.
“We are armed with our spirit to easily finish this game and with our teamwork, we demolished CBIT”, said Captain Crebillo of Blue Marlins in a vernacular.
Golden Eagles looked to salvage the match with four successive points in the second set but Crebillo ended the game with his furious attacked, 25-21.
See-saw of spikes occurred in the middle when the two squad boost their power and fired up different strategies to be on top of the crowds.
Golden Eagles lose steam in the end set when the Marlins fired lightning moves, giant blocks and in a blink of an eye, Blue Marlins headed by Crebillo created an astonishing spike sealed Golden Eagles to its doom, 25-18.
“Lack of practices of our team and our communication, I think we can't easily communicate because of the crowds", said Captain Camangyan.
